FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the V4 Final platform and assessment tool. Got a question that wasn't answered? Email us at support@v4final.com

Is there a minimum subscription period?

We ask that customers commit to a minimum of 6 months in their subscription. This is to ensure that there is enough measured data to have insights into ROI and utility. Depending on the volume of work being managed in the platform, the time necessary for reliable ROI data may change, though, so we're happy to work with you based on your unique needs.

How much does it cost? Can I get a free trial?

Right now, we are only taking customers for our early access program. This involves a minimum six-month proof-of-concept engagement, specially designed for customers to measure legal value in a specific area of their business.  The early access program, which include white-glove onboarding and support, custom configuration, and prioritized feature and integration requests, is offered for $5,000/month.

Note that customers without an existing environment to deploy the V4 Platform functions may face additional charges for the underlying infrastructure work. Customers needing assistance with that will be referred to third-party service providers.

3

How many users can participate under the Early Access Program?

We price for enterprise value rather than on a per-user or per-document basis. We believe that charging per user drives behaviors that prevent the platform from providing the best outcomes. We also want to make sure that legal team members can find information and resources throughout the company without worrying about the cost of doing so.

4

Can we use the V4 Final Platform with outside counsel?

Yes! We can provide access and role-based access rights to individuals outside of the company. Bonus: if your outside counsel changes firms, they can easily stay engaged with the legal request or have their role quickly transitioned to another legal reviewer without having to do complex knowledge and document transfers because all relevant information and files never left your environment. Consultations, advice, and relevant facts also stay in-context of a request, making handoffs between attorneys (inside or out) seamless.

5

Are you ISO/SOC 2 compliant?

Independent third-party reports (SOC 2) and certifications (ISO) require a minimum amount of time in operations before they are possible. V4 Final has not yet met that operational time period.  Given the founders' backgrounds in cybersecurity and compliance, we are continually building out the necessary infrastructure, processes, and controls to ensure that this key milestone is met quickly. We take our responsibilities to role model good practices when it comes to security and compliance.

The V4 Final Platform is built to operate independently within a customer's security boundary.  Customer content is both stored and processed in infrastructure that is isolated from all other customers. We maintain no standing access to customer content and have architected and built the underlying functions to fully segregate each customer.

We also maintain no unrestricted rights to elevate privilege so that we can later gain access. We offer immutable logs designed to work with most SIEMs to ensure you can receive timely and actionable alerts for any access to your content or networks via V4 Final.  We are happy to share more information with you on how we do this. Reach out to support@v4final.com for more information.

6

Do you use AI? How?

We use AI in our day-to-day business operations (for example, we used it to help draft and review some of our web content and blog posts, and we've used it in our code development and testing).  The V4 Assessment uses also AI to help generate reports based on assessment scoring, and the V4 Platform can use AI to analyze document redlines or legal requests.

Notice that we said "can use AI". Out-of-the-box AI offerings within the V4 Platform use Azure OpenAI, which processes customer requests in isolation and is configured not to be trained on any customer request or content.  Customers uncomfortable with AI can work with us to opt out completely, and customers who have preferred AI services can use those instead, subject to API availability with the AI service provider and noting that not all AI models will be fit for purpose.

7

Tell me more about prioritization. How do you determine a request priority?

We have a patented process that uses an automated assessment of priorities that is then combined with targeted information collected about each new request. This information is combined to give a numerical value to each request based on how important it is to get that specific legal request addressed.

Don't worry, though. We've also made sure to allow requests to be reprioritized based on proper authorization. We log those reprioritizations so that you can regularly review when actions indicate a shift in priorities and quickly address whether the change was intended.

8

What is required for onboarding? Do I need the IT team to support?

Some level of IT support will be necessary to allow for single sign-on. This helps ensure compliance with your corporate security policies and allows for retrieval of directory information in order to quickly find the right people when needing to facilitate communication. For customers wanting to make use of AI functionality or system integration, we will also need technical support to ensure functional access to information for the AI to work with and the necessary API information for integration.

Luckily, we have many years of experience bridging the gap (and the jargon) between legal teams and IT teams. We know how to make it easy for even the least technical customer to be able to get the IT support they need - with minimum disruption and costs - to get the V4 Platform up and running.

9

Where do you store our documents?

We store documents and other content is stored in customer-dedicated cloud storage (Azure Storage, AWS S3, etc), as directed by the customer. This storage, however, is only for the purpose of processing in order to provide the V4 Platform service.

V4 Final is not a document storage solution, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform, or legal intelligence solution. We make use of existing solutions so that customers can continue to use the tools they know and love while gaining the benefit of the V4 Platform for managing the outcome-based performance of your legal team.

10

What integrations are available?

We are continuously developing platform integrations, with priority going to our Early Access program. If you have a specific tool you want to integrate with V4 Final to evaluate its effectiveness or ROI, contact sales@v4final.com
